our story

Hi, I'm Charlie. I live in South Philadelphia with my husband Kevin, our dog Hamilton, and more cats than I'll admit to in writing. When I'm not pouring candles, I'm a project manager at a marketing agency, volunteering at my local animal rescue, and recently went back to school to finish my degree. In my downtime you'll find me watching reality TV, having board game nights, cheering on Philly sports teams, or singing made-up songs to my cats. You'll probably see Kevin at shows too. He carries the boxes and brings me coffee.

Witchy Philly Candle Co. started on my living room coffee table in 2023, mostly because my husband worked night shifts and I needed something to do with my hands. What started as a hyper-fixation hobby turned into something I genuinely couldn't have predicted, and I'm still a little surprised by it.

Every candle I make is poured by hand in small batches, with ingredients I actually trust. The crystals are charged during full moons and placed by hand, because I believe the intention behind what you make matters. Whether you're into that or not, you're welcome here.

I started this because it made my heart happy. It still does. Thank you for being part of it.

the crystals

Every crystal that goes on a Witchy Philly Candle Co. candle has been charged under a full moon on a selenite plate. Selenite is known for its high vibration and calming energy, and is one of the few crystals that can cleanse and charge others while clearing out anything that doesn't belong. It's the foundation the whole process is built on.

During charging, crystals absorb the unique intentions of whichever full moon they're sitting under, while releasing any energy they've picked up along the way. Each moon brings something different to the table: the Worm Moon in March brings renewal and fresh starts, the Flower Moon in May carries abundance and growth, the Hunter's Moon in October is about clarity and going after what you want.

When it's time to place them on a candle, I don't choose randomly. I pick the ones that call to me for that candle, that moment. Which means the one you end up with was always meant for you, even if neither of us knew it yet.
